If your disability payment changes

The amount of disability payment you get from Social Security Scotland can change after:

  • a review
  • a re-determination (where you ask Social Security Scotland to take another look at your application)
  • an appeal

Any change to your disability payment can affect your related benefits and services. If this happens, you should contact each of your providers to let them know.

You can do this by reporting a change of circumstances on each benefit you get.

If you do not report a change straight away you could:

  • miss out on extra money that you’re entitled to
  • be paid too much and have to pay the money back
