Support during the consultation

You can have a friend or family member with you for support during the consultation. You can also have an independent advocate with you, who can help you express your views and wishes.

If there is someone you would like to go with you, call Social Security Scotland free on 0800 182 2222 before your consultation. They’ll send them the details of your appointment.

Anyone can get an independent advocate to help with an application. Find out more information on how to get an advocate and how they can help you.
