Register with Disclosure Scotland
You can register your organisation with Disclosure Scotland if you’re applying for higher level disclosures for your workers.
Registering means that you’ll be able to countersign disclosure applications. You’ll become what’s known as a ‘registered body’.
Registered bodies can check their employees’ higher level disclosures to:
- make sure they’re still allowed to do the type of work they're doing
- help decide if they're suitable for the type of work they're doing
If you do not want to register, you can use an umbrella body who can sign applications on your behalf.
Higher level disclosures must be signed by either a registered body or umbrella body before they’re submitted to Disclosure Scotland.
Basic Disclosure
You do not need to register with Disclosure Scotland for basic disclosures.
You should ask your workers to apply online for basic disclosure.
