Overview

If an organisation has employees or volunteers working with children or protected adults, they may be eligible for the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.

The PVG scheme helps ensure that people who are unsuitable to work with children and protected adults cannot do regulated work with them. People who are barred from working with these groups cannot join the scheme.

Warning

If you have employees or volunteers doing regulated work, you have a duty to report harmful behaviour to Disclosure Scotland.

You can register your organisation with Disclosure Scotland to get PVG checks for your employees.

By registering you’ll become a registered body. Registered bodies can check employees’ PVG disclosures to:

  • help decide if they're suitable for certain types of work
  • make sure they’re allowed to do certain types of work
