If you feel that your Scottish Adult DLA is wrong
When your benefit moves from Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to Scottish Adult Disability Living Allowance (Scottish Adult DLA), you’ll usually keep getting the same amount.
You might disagree with things like:
- how much you’re going to be paid
- the date your payments will start
If you think your Scottish Adult DLA is wrong, you can ask Social Security Scotland to look at your benefit again. This is called a ‘re-determination’. A client can only ask for a re-determination once they’ve got a letter called ‘Your DLA has moved to Social Security Scotland’.
You have the right to appeal Social Security Scotland’s re-determination decision about your Scottish Adult DLA award.
Find out more about what re-determinations and appeals are.
You cannot withdraw your re-determination request once you’ve made it. This is because Social Security Scotland is legally required to complete the re-determination process and give you a new decision.
