How you can send supporting information

With your application, review, or change of circumstances

You can send supporting information along with your application or within 28 days after applying. Supporting information can be uploaded online, sent by post or a mixture of the two.

Social Security Scotland may also ask you to send documents when you tell them about a change of circumstances, or as part of a Child Disability Payment review.

You do not have to send all of your documents at once. You can upload what you have and send the rest later, or ask Social Security Scotland to call you.

You should still apply if you do not have documents or do not know who to speak to. Social Security Scotland can still consider your application without this information.

If you’re worried about getting information from a professional or are not sure who you would ask, call Social Security Scotland free on 0800 182 2222.

The call centre opening times are Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm (UK time).

If you're a British Sign Language user, you can use the contactSCOTLAND app to contact Social Security Scotland by video relay.

By post

You can send photocopies of documents in the post. It can take Social Security Scotland up to 2 weeks to return any original documents you send. You can make photocopies at your local library.

You can send the documents to:

Child Disability Payment
PO Box 27167
Glasgow
G4 7EA

By upload

Uploading your documents online is the fastest way to send them. You can save a scan of your document or take a picture with a smartphone.

You can find out how to upload your scan or picture on the document upload webpage.
