Register with a GP and update health details
What you need to do
You must register with a local:
- doctor or General Practitioner (GP)
- dentist
Do this as soon as you can, after you move to Scotland.
Make sure your medical details are up to date to support any future benefit applications or reviews.
Go to the NHS inform website for guidance on using NHS services like:
- GPs
- dentists
- opticians
- pharmacies
- drug and mental health services
How to do it
After you move to Scotland:
- find out how to register with a new GP on NHS inform
- find your local health centre at NHS inform
- contact your previous GP and ask them to transfer your medical records
- find out how to register with an NHS dentist on NHS inform
