Social Security Scotland satisfaction survey

The purpose of this survey is to gather feedback on your experience of applying for or receiving any of the following benefits from Social Security Scotland:

  • Funeral Support Payment
  • Young Carer Grant
  • Job Start Payment

It is your chance to tell us what you think.

You can complete the survey if you have applied for any of these benefits since 1 October 2023.

Completing the survey

You can complete the survey online. It should take you around 15 minutes. You cannot save your answers, so you should complete the whole survey in one sitting.

Complete the survey

If you prefer, call the Social Security Scotland research helpline free on 0800 029 4974 to:

  • get help to complete the survey over the phone, including with an interpreter if you need one
  • ask them to send a paper survey to you, with a pre-paid return envelope

The phone line is open from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.

You should complete the survey before 28 May 2024.

Taking part is your choice, and your chance to tell Social Security Scotland what you think about your experience. Your opinion is important, so you should fill in as much as possible.

Help to complete the survey

You can ask a relative, friend or carer to help you complete the survey. The answers should be from your own point of view.

How Social Security Scotland will use your answers

The answers to this survey will let Social Security Scotland know about peoples’ experiences of its services and benefits. That will tell Social Security Scotland:

  • what it’s doing well
  • where it can improve

Social Security Scotland will analyse the survey results. They’ll produce a report in 2024. This report will be available on the the Social Security Scotland website.

Social Security Scotland will keep your answers confidential. No one involved in making benefit decisions now or in the future will:

  • know if you’ve taken part
  • have access to your individual answers

It will not affect any of your applications or benefits if you either do or do not complete the survey.
