Social Security Scotland satisfaction survey

Social Security Scotland wants to hear from people who applied for:

  • Best Start Grant
  • Best Start Foods
  • Scottish Child Payment

Social Security Scotland are doing a survey to learn about your experience of applying.

You must have received your decision after 1 April 2023.

You can fill in the survey if:

  • your application was successful or unsuccessful
  • you applied for yourself or someone else

Complete the survey

You can complete the survey online. It should take you around 15 minutes. You cannot save your answers, so you should complete the whole survey in one sitting.

  • get help to complete the survey over the phone, including with an interpreter if you need one
  • ask them to send a paper survey to you, with a pre-paid return envelope

The phone line is open from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.

Completing the survey is optional.

Get help with the survey

You can ask a relative, friend or carer to help you complete the survey. The answers should be from your own point of view.

How Social Security Scotland will use your answers

The answers to this survey will tell Social Security Scotland:

  • what they’re doing well
  • where they can improve

Social Security Scotland will analyse the survey results. They’ll produce a report in late 2023. This report will be available on the Social Security Scotland website

Social Security Scotland will keep your answers confidential. No one involved in making benefit decisions now or in the future will:

  • know if you have taken part
  • have access to your individual answers

It will not affect any of your applications or benefits if you complete the survey.
