How to apply

Apply online

To fill in the application you'll need:

  • your name, date of birth and address
  • your National Insurance number (if you know it)
  • your bank, credit union or building society account details
  • details of your job offer, along with contact details for your employer or proof of the job offer

There is more detail later on in the form about the job offer (including if you're self-employed) and young care leaver evidence. These documents can be submitted after completing the application.

You can find your National Insurance number if you've lost it.

If you want to set up a bank account visit Citizens Advice Scotland's website for information on how to do this.

The form has 7 sections and should take about 9 minutes to complete. You should fill in this application in one go. You can submit your job offer and care leaver evidence after completing the form, if you want.
