Who can get Carer's Allowance Supplement
To get Carer's Allowance Supplement you must:
- live in Scotland on a particular date or have a genuine and sufficient link to Scotland
- be getting Carer's Allowance payments on a particular date
The person you care for does not have to live in Scotland.
Dates
If you're getting Carer's Allowance on 10 April 2023 you should get a Carer's Allowance Supplement payment in June 2023.
If you were getting Carer's Allowance on 10 October 2022, or your award for Carer's Allowance was backdated to 10 October 2022 and you did not receive a Carer's Allowance Supplement payment in December 2022, you'll get this payment as part of the June 2023 Carer's Allowance Supplement payments.
If you do not get Carer's Allowance
You must get Carer's Allowance to get Carer's Allowance Supplement. If you want to, you can find out more about what benefits you could get.
Some people do not get Carer's Allowance because they get other benefits instead. This is called an 'underlying entitlement'.
You will not get Carer's Allowance Supplement if you have an underlying entitlement to Carer's Allowance.
