Find out if a social service worker is registered

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is the regulator for social service workers in Scotland.

The SSSC has a register of social service workers, which makes sure they follow rules and regulations to carry out their work safely.

Social workers and many other groups of social service workers are required by law to register with the SSSC, if they aren't registered with another regulatory body.

You can use the SSSC website to search the register and find out whether a social worker or social care worker is registered.

You can search by:

  • first name
  • surname
  • town of employment
  • Scottish Social Service Council registration number
