Care needs are help and support you need during the day or night.

This could be help:

  • you need but do not already have
  • you only need sometimes
  • from a person, or using an aid, tool or adaption

You might be able to get Pension Age Disability Payment

You might be eligible if either:

  • you live in an EU country, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland or Gibraltar, have a genuine and sufficient link to Scotland and are covered by a relevant EU regulation
  • you or a family member are posted abroad as a member of the UK Armed Forces, or as a UK Civil Servant

A genuine and sufficient link is where you do not live in Scotland, but have a link to Scotland. For example, you have spent a significant part of your life in Scotland.

You might be able to get Pension Age Disability Payment

Moving from DLA to Scottish Adult DLA 

All adults in Scotland still getting DLA from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will have their benefit moved to Scottish Adult DLA.
