Apply for or renew an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)

You can get financial help through Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) if you're aged 16 to 19 and want to continue learning.

Each academic year, you'll need to:

apply to your local council or college for EMA
complete a learning agreement

How much you'll get

EMA is worth £30 per week. You'll only get paid if you meet the agreed attendance from your learning agreement or action plan (previously known as an activity agreement).
