Research on applying for and receiving disability benefits through Special Rules for Terminal Illness (SRTI)

The Scottish Government has asked an independent research organisation (KSO Research) to find out about people’s experiences of applying for and receiving benefits following a terminal illness diagnosis

The researchers would like to speak with people who are living with a terminal illness and have applied for or receive either:

  • Adult Disability Payment
  • Child Disability Payment
  • Pension Age Disability Payment

The researchers would also like to speak to representatives who applied for or manage one of these benefits on behalf of someone with a terminal illness.

If you decide to take part, the researchers will speak to you either by telephone or online and the conversation will last around 30 minutes.

Taking part is voluntary. If you decide to take part, it will not affect your benefit payments now or in the future.

People who take part will be given a £35 ‘Love2Shop’ voucher to thank them for their time.
