Making referrals to other organisations

You may also have to refer people to other organisations, as well as Disclosure Scotland. This includes the police and professional regulators for your sector.

Professional regulators include:

• Care Inspectorate
• General Dental Council
• General Medical Council
• General Optical Council
• General Osteopathic Council
• General Pharmaceutical Council
• General Teaching Council for Scotland
• Health and Care Professions Council
• Nursing Midwifery Council
• Scottish Social Services Council
• General Chiropractic Council

A referral to Disclosure Scotland does not replace other legal duties you have to report people elsewhere. You still have to make referrals to other organisations.
