Types of change to tell Social Security Scotland about
You need to tell Social Security Scotland about changes to your:
- name or address
- employment or earnings
- hours of care
- other benefits
- immigration status if you're not a British citizen
Other changes to tell Social Security Scotland about include:
- changes to benefits the person you care for gets
- if you're aged 16 to 19 and start studying at secondary school or college
- if you or the person you care for have a terminal illness, so you can change how often you're paid
You can only tell Social Security Scotland about changes that have already happened. Not changes that will happen in the future.
Additional people you care for
If you already get Carer Support Payment, you can tell Social Security Scotland about any additional people you care for. This could be if:
- you've started caring for an additional person for 20 hours or more a week
- an additional person you care for has been awarded a qualifying benefit
If you're eligible, you'll get Carer Additional Person Payment at the same time as your Carer Support Payment and Scottish Carer Supplement.
