Send Rent Service Scotland details of the rent you charge
As a private landlord, you can send Rent Service Scotland details of rent you charge tenants.
This helps Rent Service Scotland to:
- set Local Housing Allowance rates
- provide Housing Benefit decisions to local councils
- adjudicate on rent increases for private residential tenancies
- maintain the register of fair rents
It also helps inform government housing policies affecting things like mortgages, pensions and benefits.
Information Rent Service Scotland needs
You can help Rent Service Scotland by telling them:
- the rental property address and postcode
- if the property is furnished or unfurnished
- the number of living rooms and bedrooms
- the rent you charge tenants per week or per month
- if the rent charge covers water rates or not
- the date the tenancy started
