Scottish Food Commission
The Scottish Food Commission (SFC) is supporting Scotland’s progress towards becoming a Good Food Nation.
Its vision is to make food work for everyone.
This includes:
- reviewing progress on the National and local Good Food Nation plans developed by the Scottish Government, local authorities and territorial health boards
- providing independent advice to Scottish Ministers, local authorities and health boards
- making evidence-based recommendations where improvement is needed
- gathering evidence, sharing learning and carrying out or supporting research
- helping different parts of Scotland’s food system work together more effectively
- ensuring that our food improves health, fairness, communities, the environment and the economy
The SFC’s role is to provide independent oversight, advice and constructive challenge.
