Operating a residential mobile home site
There are laws you must follow if you run a mobile home site (park home site) that residents live on permanently all year round.
You must get a site licence from the local council, and keep to the licence terms.
You must make sure all residents have a written statement. This is the agreement that sets out what you’re each responsible for and what rights you each have.
Rules for holiday sites
The licensing rules are different if the site is only licensed for holiday units. Caravans that only have a holiday licence must not be sold or used as permanent homes.
Reselling energy to residents
There’s a limit to the maximum price that you can resell gas and electricity to residents at. You can only charge them for the price paid per unit of energy plus the fixed standing charge.
You cannot profit from any charges you include.
Get more information on reselling energy on the Ofgem website.
