Being referred to the Children's Reporter

A Children's Reporter is a person who makes decisions to help young people who need care and protection. They also help children who are in trouble with the police or at school.

Visit the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration (SCRA) website for information on what happens if a young person is referred to the Children's Reporter.

You'll find information on:

  • statement of grounds (why they're being referred)
  • what happens when the Children's Reporter gets a referral
  • how the Children's Reporter will investigate the referral
