SME Loan and Cashback Scheme

The SME Loan and Cashback Scheme offers interest-free loans to small and medium enterprises based in Scotland. This is funded by the Scottish Government.

What you can get

The loans can be up to £100,000 for renewable or energy efficiency projects.

You can access up to £130,000 in total through the scheme. This includes:

• a 75% cashback grant of up to £10,000 for a renewable heating system
• a 75% cashback grant of up to £20,000 for energy efficient measures

Loans and grants are on a first-come, first-served basis while funding lasts.

What an energy efficient project is

An energy efficient project should save your business money and reduce resources.

These could include:

• heating, ventilation, and air conditioning upgrades
• renewable technologies, such as replacing a boiler to one with an air source heat pump
• improving insulation, draught-proofing, double or secondary glazing
• installing wind turbines and wood-burning stoves
