Disputes with the owner on a mobile home site

You can get help with a contract dispute between you and the site owner, if you cannot resolve it together.

If the site owner is not following their site licence terms, you can report this to the local council.

Getting mediation

If there’s a residents’ association on site, you can get advice and support from the Scottish Confederation of Park Home Residents Associations.

You can also get mediation support from the Holiday and Residential Parks Association, if the site owner is a member.

They cannot decide for you, but they can help you reach an agreement in a dispute.

There are other steps you can take to avoid going to court.

Taking legal action

If the site owner is breaching the written statement, you can take legal action in court.

You may be able to do this through an informal court process called simple procedure. Get information on simple procedure on the Scottish Courts website.

Getting legal advice from a solicitor can help you decide whether to take legal action.

They cannot profit from any charges they include.
