Check the register of fair rents for tenancies set up before 1989

Search the register of fair rents to check the maximum rent landlords can charge for properties with a regulated tenancy.

Most tenancies set up before 2 January 1989 will be regulated tenancies. If your tenancy started after 2 January 1989, there are different rules for rent increases.

If you’re unsure if you have a regulated tenancy, you can check your tenancy type.

Search the register online

The online register has all the fair rent decisions that rent officers have made for regulated tenancies since the Rent (Scotland) Act 1984 was introduced.
