Refunds for disclosures
Disclosure Scotland will only give you a refund if:
- they cannot process your disclosure application after you've given them all the information they need
- they send you an incorrect disclosure and you do not want a corrected one
- you make a credit/debit card payment online through Disclosure Scotland's payment portal when filling in a paper application, but do not send the paper application within 21 days of paying
- you're a countersignatory whose organisation has paid by card for an application for an individual, and the link to that application has expired
You cannot get a refund if:
- you do not need a disclosure anymore
- you were not offered the post that you needed the disclosure for
- it takes longer than you expected to get your disclosure
- you want to leave the PVG scheme
- you're not allowed to become a member of the PVG scheme
- Disclosure Scotland refuses a registration or countersignatory nomination
- you're an applicant and you do not share your disclosure with your employer
- you do not access your account within 28 days of your disclosure being available to view
- you requested a review of your disclosure and are not satisfied with the outcome of the review
- inaccurate information is provided on the application - it's the customer’s responsibility to ensure information is as accurate as possible
