Refunds for disclosures

Disclosure Scotland will only give you a refund if:

  • they cannot process the disclosure check after you've given them all the information they need
  • they send you an incorrect certificate and you do not want a corrected one
  • you make a credit/debit card payment online through Disclosure Scotland's payment portal when filling in a paper application, but do not send the paper application within 21 days of paying
  • you applied between 24 March 2020 and 23 June 2022 and paid Disclosure Scotland directly for a coronavirus response worker disclosure
  • you paid for an online PVG application by card but the application expired

You cannot get a refund if:

  • you do not need a disclosure anymore
  • you were not offered the post that you needed the disclosure for
  • it takes longer than you expected to get your disclosure
  • you want to leave the PVG scheme
  • you're not allowed to become a member of the PVG scheme
  • Disclosure Scotland refuses a registration or countersignatory nomination
