Time off for family and dependants (compassionate leave)

If you're an employee you're allowed to take time off work to deal with an emergency involving a dependant.

A dependant could be a spouse, partner, child, grandchild, parent or anyone who depends on you for care.

Find information about time off for family and dependants on GOV.UK, including:

  • how much time you get
