What is the Cladding Remediation Programme

The Cladding Remediation Programme addresses the risks to life and other impacts related to unsafe cladding.

Cladding is an external wall system used on some buildings. It’s used to:

  • insulate a building
  • protect against weather
  • improve the appearance of a building

Some cladding may use flammable materials that could cause a fire to spread more quickly.

Single Open Call

It’s not possible to tell if a building has potentially flammable cladding using only existing records.

The Cladding Remediation Programme launched the Single Open Call.

This has 2 stages:

  • stage 1 – Single Building Assessment (SBA)
  • stage 2 – mitigation and/or remediation work identified by the SBA

Where applicable for eligible buildings, the Scottish Government will provide funding for stages 1 and 2.  The total funding and coverage at each stage will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

You can submit an Expression of Interest during the Single Open Call. This closes on 31 December 2025.
