How you're paid

If your application is successful, Independent Living Fund Scotland (ILF Scotland) will ask how you want to be paid.

Who can receive the money

They can send the money to:

  • you
  • a relative
  • a guardian
  • someone who manages your benefits or makes decisions for you – such as someone you’ve given power of attorney
  • a financial management agency

Money cannot be paid directly to the providers of the equipment or activities you want to buy.

How you can get the money

You can get your money:

  • all at once
  • spread over 12 months
  • in a way that suits your needs

You need to keep the receipts for the equipment or activities you buy. ILF Scotland will ask to see them to prove you’ve spent the money on what you said you would.

If you have any questions about how you get paid, you can contact ILF Scotland on their website.

Getting help with a Transition Fund payment

You can get support from ILF Scotland if you need help managing the money you get.
