How and when to apply

You'll need certain documents to apply for funding. As the application is complicated it's a good idea to get help from your parents or guardians.

Make sure you and your parents or guardians take time to complete the application together before the deadline.

How to apply

Before you apply for your tuition fees, think about whether you need any other funding too. This could be a student loan or bursary for your living costs. You should apply for all the funding you need at the same time.

When to apply

SAAS aims to process correctly filled-in applications received before the end of June.

If you apply after the end of June, SAAS may not be able to process your application before the start of your course.

Your application is only valid for one academic year – you must apply every year.

There's no age limit for tuition fees, bursary and living costs grants.

There is an age limit for the living-cost student loan. You must be over the age of 16 and under 60 on the first day of the first academic year of your course.
