Social Security Scotland Equalities survey

Social Security Scotland wants to hear from people whose benefit transferred from DWP to Social Security Scotland.

Social Security Scotland are doing a survey to learn about your experiences.

Anyone who transferred from one of these benefits can take part:

  • Carer's Allowance Supplement

Taking part will not affect any of your applications or benefits.

You can complete the survey online. You cannot save your answers, so you should complete the whole survey in one sitting.

If you prefer, call Social Security Scotland free on 0800 029 4974 to: 

  • get help to complete the survey over the phone, including with an interpreter if you need one
  • ask them to send a paper survey to you, with a pre-paid return envelope

The phone line is open from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.

You can ask a relative, friend or carer to help you complete the survey.

You should answer the questions about yourself and not anyone you are applying on behalf of. You can respond 'prefer not to say' at any time, for any question in this survey.

How Social Security Scotland will use your answers 

Social Security Scotland will analyse the survey results. This report will be available on the Social Security Scotland website.

Social Security Scotland will keep your answers confidential. No one involved in making benefit decisions now or in the future will:

  • know if you’ve taken part
  • have access to your individual answers 

It will not affect any of your applications or benefits if you complete the survey. 

How Social Security Scotland uses your data

Social Security Scotland holds information for everyone who has:

  • applied for a benefit
  • received a benefit

This information includes a person’s:

  • name
  • address
  • contact details
