There are a number of ways to apply for your older person's bus pass.

What you need to apply

You'll need:

  • a recent photo
  • proof of your current address
  • proof of your age

If you have a disability

You can choose between the disabled person's bus pass and the older person's bus pass.

Companions cannot travel for free on the older person's bus pass. If you need someone to travel with you for free, you can only get this with the disabled person's bus pass if you're eligible.

Some local council areas also provide discounted travel on trains, trams or the subway with a disabled person's bus pass.

A disabled person's bus pass is valid for a maximum of 3 years.
