Keep your details up to date

If you're a member of the PVG scheme, it's important to keep your details up to date with Disclosure Scotland.

This means Disclosure Scotland can contact you quickly if needed and information is sent to the right place.

You should tell Disclosure Scotland as soon as possible if your details change, including your:

  • address
  • email address
  • contact number
  • employer

Legal requirements

By law you need to tell Disclosure Scotland about certain changes.

If you're a PVG scheme member and you change your name or gender, you must tell Disclosure Scotland within 3 months of doing so.

If you're barred from regulated roles or you're under consideration for listing, you must tell Disclosure Scotland within 1 month if you change your:

  • name
  • address
  • gender
Warning

If you do not tell Disclosure Scotland about these changes you're committing a criminal offence.

How to update your details

To update your name or address, complete the update form and email it to dsupdate@disclosurescotland.gov.scot.

For a change of address, you'll need to send a copy of one of the following:

  • utility bill
  • bank statement
  • credit/debit card statement
  • driving licence photocard
  • insurance letter

For a change of name, you'll need to send a copy of one of the following:

  • marriage certificate
  • passport
  • driving licence photocard
  • deed poll certificate
  • gender recognition certificate

To update other details, such as your contact number, email dsupdate@disclosurescotland.gov.scot.

You will not get a new disclosure after updating your details. If you or your employer wants an updated disclosure, you'll need to apply for a new one.
