An awards programme to recognise innovative, forward thinking and collaborative food and drink businesses in the Highlands and Islands.
The awards are presented at an awards dinner.
Previous winners have benefitted from:
- increased profile and brand awareness;
- endorsement from industry for the business or product;
- potentially increased sales;
- opportunity to target new customers or market sectors;
- opportunity to spread the word about the award in marketing literature, social media, websites, local press or within packaging or promotions; and
- a boost to staff morale and motivation.
The awards programme is managed by Lux Events, a creative events company, with the support of a range of sponsors including Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Bank of Scotland.
The food and drink industry in the Highlands and Islands generates in excess of £1 billion per annum and supports around 30,000 full time jobs across the region. There is a wide range of diverse products and an equally diverse profile of businesses, from world-renowned businesses to small innovative producers.
Launched in 2004, the Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards were set up with the intention of complimenting the work of the Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Forum by encouraging food and drink businesses to be innovative, forward thinking and collaborative and by celebrating excellence and achievement.

The Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards are open to food producers, retailers, catering and eating establishments, restaurants, hotels, and any businesses or organisation of any size operating in the Highlands and Islands and Cairngorm National Park.
This scheme is now closed. The last deadline for applications was 5 May 2017. Information regarding future rounds will be given once available.

Judging day will take place 20 June 2017. The shortlist will be announced 28 June 2017. The awards ceremony will take place 20 October 2017.
