Your options if you cannot find a Gypsy/Traveller site
If you cannot find land to camp on, you can:
- get emergency help from the council
- apply for brick and mortar housing with a council or a housing association
- rent brick and mortar housing from a private landlord
Getting emergency help from the council
The council must help you if they think you’re homeless.
You do not have to be sleeping on the street to be homeless. It could be because you have nowhere to camp without being moved on.
