Funding is available for film production projects that will deliver a significant contribution to the Scottish economy.
Funding will be given in the form of a non-recoupable grant that is based upon Estimated Scottish Spend. The ratio of the Estimated Scottish Spend to the level of funding requested should be no less that 4:1. There is a minimum award of £250,000 and a maximum award of £500,000.
The Production Growth Fund is funded by the Scottish Government and the National Lottery, through Creative Scotland.
The purpose of this funding is to help towards the growth of the screen production sector, creating employment opportunities and encouraging the use of production facilities companies based in Scotland. It is expected that funded projects will bring significant economic benefit to Scotland.
Information regarding restrictions has not been stipulated. Interested parties should contact the funding provider directly for further details.
Applications are welcome from producers based both within and outside of Scotland. Scottish-based producers must be able to secure most of the shoot and the post production aspects of a project within Scotland. Non Scottish-based producers must hire a significant number of Scottish-based cast and crew and should utilize Scottish-based production facilities companies.
Applicants may seek an amount worth up to 25% of a project's budget.
Funding should be put towards the production costs of an eligible film project. Creative Scotland will fund live-action and animated features as well as animated live action and animated high-end television drama series.
Since 1 April 2016, applications are being accepted on a rolling basis, with no deadlines. Once applications have been received, it may take up to eight weeks for a decision to be made. Creative Scotland Officers within the Screen Team will assess the applications, which must be complete and eligible. Outcomes will then be given by email.
