An awards ceremony to recognise those who have demonstrated a commitment to passing on skills and improving routes into work for young people in the UK.
Award winners will be recognised at a ceremony on 1 March 2017 at The Backstage Centre in Purfleet.
Nominees will be provided with two tickets to attend the awards free of charge.
Creative & Cultural Skills are licensed as a Sector Skills Council by the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, and governed by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills.
The organisation champions youth employment and fair access, and works across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, collectively representing the skills needs of UK industry.
The Creative and Cultural Skills Awards aim to recognise organisations and individuals working to support young talent to build careers in the creative sector, as well as exemplary apprentices and interns working in the sector.
The 2017 award categories are as follows:
- Craft skills
- Design skills
- Museums & heritage skills
- Music skills
- Jewellery skills
- Theatre skills

For the six sector-specific awards, nominations can be for individuals in the UK who have shown an outstanding commitment to passing on and developing creative skills, and who make a difference to the lives of young people entering the creative industries.
These could be:
- Course Leaders.
The Training Organisation of the Year award is open to nominations for businesses or education institutions which have demonstrated an innovative approach to developing creative talent.
The Apprentice of the Year Award and The Intern of the Year Award are open to nominations for young people from across the creative sector who have demonstrated the ambition and talent to make a real difference in his or her workplace. Nominees must be a current apprentice or paid intern, or must have recently completed their apprenticeship or internship.
The Creative Choices Award celebrates young people who have shown dedication and excellence in a pre-employment training programme. Colleges and training providers should nominate young people aged 16-21 who are engaged in a pre-employment training programme and have shown excellence and progress in their role.
Nominees’ travel expenses to attend the awards will not be covered by Creative & Cultural Skills.
This scheme is currently closed. The last deadline for applications was 27 January 2017. Information regarding future deadlines will be given once available.
