Cost of Living Payment

You may be able to get an extra payment to help with the cost of living if you’re getting certain benefits or tax credits.

Disability cost of living payment

You’ll get a lump sum payment of £150 if you received a payment for 25 May 2022 for one of the following:

  • Child Disability Payment
  • Adult Disability Payment
Warning

You do not need to apply. If you’re eligible, you’ll be paid automatically.

Social Security Scotland are working with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to make sure that this payment is made to people receiving disability benefits.

When you’ll get paid

You’ll get the payment from September 2022. DWP will make the payment.

Low income cost of living payment

You may be able to get a £650 payment towards the cost of living if you get certain benefits or tax credits.

Winter Fuel Payment

If you’re entitled to a Winter Fuel Payment for winter 2022 to 2023, you'll get an extra £300. This will be paid with your normal payment from November 2022.

This will be paid as well as any low income or disability cost of living payments you’re eligible to.
