Financial assistance available to businesses in Aberdeenshire where a significant number of jobs are being created.
Grants are awarded at a maximum of £2,000 per job where at least five full-time jobs are being created.
The Job Creation Grant is part of the SAB (Supporting Aberdeen Business) programme provided by Aberdeenshire Council.
The aim of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to businesses in Aberdeenshire where a significant number of jobs are being created.
The ultimate goal is to secure and expand the employment base and the economy of Aberdeenshire.
The Council may be restricted by European State Aid Rules when offering assistance.
Due to State Aid Rules the Council is restricted in the assistance it can give to primary industries eg fishing and farming.
Retrospective applications are not eligible.
Whilst no other exclusions are cited in the guidelines, potential applicants are advised to contact the Council directly for further information regarding eligibility.
Businesses should be based in Aberdeenshire.
Proposed projects should meet the following basic criteria:
- Bring additional economic benefit to Aberdeenshire.
- Demonstrate viability.
- Have the potential to increase employment in the Aberdeenshire area.
- Prove that there is a need for top-up finance over and above what is available on the open market or within the business.
- Have no detrimental effect on existing Aberdeenshire businesses.
