30+ Employer Recruitment Incentive

North Ayrshire Council supports businesses that are taking on employees over the age of 30 through this recruitment incentive.

Successful applicants will receive the following benefits:

  • A 50% subsidy for six months. This is based upon the minimum wage for age.
  • Payments will be made in arrears and will be claimed every three months. There will be no payment for fewer weeks.

Before You Start

The 30+ Employer Recruitment Incentive is provided by North Ayrshire Council. The purpose of this incentive is to support businesses to take on an employee who is over the age of 30 years old.


Interested parties should contact the funding provider directly for information regarding any potential restrictions.

What You Need To Know

Key Criteria

Applications are welcome from a private business of any size. They should be wishing to employ an eligible person who meets the following criteria:

  • A North Ayrshire Resident who is over the age of 30.
  • Unemployed and not on the work programme.

Match Funding

50% wage subsidy is available over a six month period.

Eligible Expenditure

This subsidy is made available for the purpose of subsidising the wage of an employee over the age of 30.
